Lexi stood in the Multiverse Booth, considering. She was in the mood for something fun.

Hands full, she hit the button for verbal commands with her elbow.

“Transfer to a…” Her weekend bag slipped to the floor making a loud rustling noise. “…dimension with 80s vibes.”

She bent towards the bag as a flash filled the booth. Instantly, her entire body froze.

Panicked, she read the command screen in front of her face “Transfer to a [static] dimension with 80s vibes.”

Lexi couldn’t even scream.

Kimberly Ann Smiley was born and raised in California, but now lives in Mississippi after an unexpected plot twist. She has several pieces of paper that claim she is a mechanical engineer and none that mention writing but has decided not to let the practical decisions made in her youth define the rest of her life.
