“ARE YOU INSANE?” my normally calm and collected inner voice screamed from down in the basement, where I’d been keeping him chained up for the past month. “A DOUBLE ISSUE?”

Yes. We received so many great new stories for this book, we just had to find a way to fit in as many as we could.

“More than 300 pages long?! More than twice as many stories as you usually publish?!”

That is what “double issue” typically means.

“Twenty-two authors?!”

And a great bunch of authors they are, too. We have writers from all over the world in this book. Returning fan favorites who have been with us since the beginning of Stupefying StoriesBeth Cato, Jamie Lackey, Evan Dicken, and Julie Frost—new fan favorites who have been making quite a splash lately on Stupefying Stories SHOWCASERoxana Arama, Karin Terebessy, Patricia Miller, and Allan Dyen-Shapiro—writers I have been keeping an eye on for some time—Anya Ow, Chana Kohl, Jorge Salgado-Reyes, and a remarkable fellow who goes by the pseudonym of “Made in DNA”

“Four complete novelettes?!”

Trust me. You'll love them.

"Are you sure you haven’t bitten off more than you can chew?!"

Hmm. Interesting word choice. Bitten, biting… Let’s see. In this book we have stories about werewolves, vampires, zombies, lycans—which are not the same as werewolves, they are very particular on that point—more vampires, hungry ghosts, angry ghosts, more zombies, that whatever-the-heck-that-thing-is in “Something CUTE This Way Comes,” those whatever-the-heck-those-things-are in “Slugging,” a homicidal cat, an orchard that needs to be nourished regularly with human blood, a giant three-headed demonic dog—

Why, yes, now that you mention it, there does seem to be a lot of biting going on in this book.

So there you have it: STUPEFYING STORIES 26. Stories you can really sink your teeth into!
